The Scientific and Technical Council of the State Forest Resources Agency of Ukraine is a permanent advisory and consultative body of the SFRA, which is created to ensure the consideration of scientific recommendations and professional consultations on the main directions of science and technology, as well as the consideration of projects of major programs of activities in the forestry and hunting sector. 

The main tasks of the Scientific and Technical Council are:

• Preparation of proposals for the formation and implementation of a unified scientific and technical policy in the field of forestry and hunting, the definition of ways, mechanisms, and ways of solving problematic issues arising in its implementation;
• Recommendations on priority areas of research and improving the effectiveness of research institutions within the management of the State Forestry Agency;
•  Improvement of the regulatory and legal framework on relevant issues.
