Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations Committee on Forestry is FAO's highest intergovernmental body on forestry. It meets every two years and brings together forest managers from around the world to discuss forestry issues. The most recent 25th meeting of the Committee was held in October 2020.
To prepare the work of the Committee and address urgent issues of forestry development at the regional level, there are 6 regional commissions of the FAO. At the European level is the European Forestry Commission, which meets once every two years. A representative of the State Forest Resources Agency of Ukraine was elected to the EFC bureau in 2015.
Recently, meetings of the European Forestry Commission have been held jointly with the UNECE Committee on Forests and Forestry. The last meeting was held in October 2019 in Geneva, Swiss Confederation.
