The Head of the State Forest Resources Agency of Ukraine Yuriy Bolokhovets informed about the work of state forestry enterprises of the industry during military conditions.
According to preliminary calculations, the damage caused to forestry enterprises is 13.2 billion UAH.

On the organization of protection of forests from fires during martial law, reported the Head of the Department of Forest Protection and Conservation Mykola Gontaruk.
The military actions aggravated the statistics of forest fires. To date, there are 191 cases of fires in the forests on the total area of 1754 hectares. This is three times more if compared to the same period of 2021. The average area per fire has increased by 16 times.
In addition to the plenary session, the foresters and members of the collegium got acquainted with the forestry of Khmelnitsky.
On the basis of the Slavutskiy state forestry enterprise works forest seed breeding complex for the cultivation of seedlings with closed root system. The design capacity allows getting 3.5-4.2 million seedlings per year.
With regard to harvesting, the foresters of Khmelnitsky region introduce new technologies. Powerful harvesters and forwarders are already working at the enterprises of the region.
In the forestry enterprises of Khmelnitsky region changed the scheme of timber harvesting. Since with the current requirements, logging residues can not be burned, workers forwarders take them from the site to the warehouse. In 2021, we produced and sold 8629 tons of wood chips and in the first three months of 2022 - 3442 tons.
The use of innovative technologies at the enterprises contributes to the reduction of manual labor. Freed workers can spend more time developing side-uses. This is additional income to the budgets of enterprises.
