The President's Green Country Environmental Initiative, launched in the summer of 2021, calls for planting 1 billion trees over 3 years and increasing forests by 1 million acres over 10 years.

"Foresters continue to meet their priorities even in times of war. One area of focus is planting forests. In less than a year you and I have planted 100,103,289 seedlings! Yes, the plans for this spring were on a large scale. But first and foremost, people's safety. Everything will be as soon as we kick the foreign occupants out of our land", - said the Head of the State Forest Resources Agency of Ukraine Yuriy Bolokhovets.

During two weeks of forest-cultivation campaign the enterprises of the State Forest Resources Agency of Ukraine planted 48,7 million tree plants on the area of 7610,3 ha, from which 344,4 ha is afforestation and assistance to natural regeneration on the area of 266,8 ha.
