Spring planting is going on in Ukraine as part of the President's "Green Country" program. During the first week of the tree planting campaign, the enterprises of the State Forest Resources Agency of Ukraine planted 13.2 million tree plants on the area of 2284.6 ha, of which 123.5 ha is forestation. Forest crops created in previous years were supplemented on the area of 80.9 ha, of which 12.3 ha - afforestation, as well as assistance to natural regeneration on the area of 58.8 ha. Afforestation works are carried out in the area where no combat operations are taking place.

We live in a new reality. There is no time to panic, we have to adapt to the activities under martial law. What challenges do we face? To do our best to win, to do our job and support the economy of Ukraine", - said the head of the State Forest Resources Agency of Ukraine Yuriy Bolokhovets.

During the war the volume of sold products in current wholesale prices (without VAT) amounted to 880 million hryvnias. During this period was harvested 391 thousand cubic meters of wood, of which 278 thousand cubic meters - timber.

Now about 4 thousand foresters in the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other paramilitary units defend Ukraine from the occupants. For the needs of the army there were transferred 25 objects of immovable property and 439 vehicles. The military is provided with fuel and lubricants, spare parts, timber, etc.

Combat operations are carried out on 2907 thousand hectares of forest lands. On the front line are: 10 regional departments, 45 state forestry enterprises, 386 forestry units, 603 objects of immovable property and 3236 objects of movable property.

38 state forestry enterprises and 289 forestry units are temporarily occupied. The area of the occupied forest lands is 1478 thousand hectares. That is, today it is practically impossible to carry out forestry activities on 20% of the area.

The infrastructure of state forestry enterprises has become a temporary shelter for 2 thousand people displaced from the zone of military operations. Logistics for the transportation of people and humanitarian aid has been set up.
