The European Parliament has approved a resolution granting Ukraine candidate status for accession to the European Union. This means that Ukraine has taken the next step towards full EU membership.

According to Prime Minister Denis Shmygal, Ukraine has legally secured its European future. The country will be able to participate in EU programs and initiatives and have access to financial assistance to the countries which are preparing to join the EU.

Unfortunately, our country has to defend its European future with blood. But we shall hold out. And we will win.

Ukraine has proved to the whole world that it is strong and indestructible. After all, the great leaders of the 27 EU countries have given Ukraine a European perspective and decided to give Ukraine candidate status.
